Members and roles

The member list

Members shows everyone in the band with their role, instrument, email and phone number. Phone numbers are used for SMS availability requests and reminders; members can add or change their own number on their account page.

Invitations

An invitation is a link tied to an email address. It is valid for 14 days and can be used once. The invited person must sign in with the same address, so check the spelling before you send it. Pending invitations are listed under the members; you can resend or cancel them.

If someone already has an expert.band account (because they are in another band), the same invitation adds the existing account to your band. They do not need a second login.

Roles

The band leader and managers can change a member's role or instrument from the member list. There is exactly one band leader per band. To promote a member to manager, edit their role. To hand over the band, use Transfer ownership in the band settings: the new leader's account takes over billing for that band from the next invoice.

Removing a member

Removing someone takes away their access immediately. Their past contributions (ratings, votes, availability, activity) stay in the band's history. A member can also leave the band themselves from the band list.

Member accounts

Each member manages their own name, emoji avatar, phone, language and theme on their account page. The band leader cannot edit these for other people, and cannot see members' passwords. If a member forgets their password, they use the reset link on the sign-in page.
